To generate some good ideas and brainstorm different ways I can make this film fit the correct genre I created a mind map of different genres to help decide what genre/idea may seem the best to do. It consists of Musicals/Dance, Drama, Horror, Comedy, Adventure, Romance and Action. What all of these genres have in common is that they are very successful in the film industry being the most popular genre's indicating they would be good to choose from as it would make my film more appealing and a success.

The genre we have decided to base our project on is going to be thriller. Thriller consists of using suspense, tension and excitement. Also, every now and then a little horror is thrown in to make the audience feel scared. Thriller's tend to make the audience feel uncertain, full of adrenaline and nervous whilst watching a hopefully nail biting thriller. If a thriller uses the right conventions it can end up being very successful and a huge hit. Listed below are some of the top thrillers which can be used for ideas or inspiration for my project.

1) Gone girl - with a man's wife disappearance it has became the main media focus. However a spotlight turns on the him as it turns out he may not be innocent.

2) The Imitation Game - During the Word war II, a mathematician tries to break the enigma code with help from others.

3) Dawn Of the Planet of the Apes- 10 years after a pandemic diseases, the apes who survived it become head to head with some humans.

4)Left Behind- A small group of survivors are left behind when millions died and the world has became a chaotic place.

5)  Divergent - Tris lives in a world divided by factions in which she chooses Dauntless. She soon discovers a plot to destroy Divergents whom are similar to Tris. Her and the mysterious Four plot have to find out why Divergents are dangerous before its too late. 

6) Lucy- A woman has drugs inserted in her whilst caught in a dark deal and becomes much stronger than before and capable of anything.

7) Prisoner - A fathers daughter goes missing he takes matters into his own hands, but how far will he go to find his daughter?

8) Taken - A retired CIA travels across Europe to find his daughter who went missing in Paris.

9) World War Z- The world has been taken over from zombies and employee Gerry goes in a race against time to try stop them.

10) Black Swan- A ballerina wins the lead of the black swan which comes with  much pressure. She slowly loses her mind as she becomes more like Odile; the black swan.
